Blue Gem Wind, the joint venture between TotalEnergies, one of the world’s largest energy companies, and Simply Blue Energy, a pioneering Celtic Sea blue economy developer have launched a second round of public consultation for project Erebus, a proposed 96MW floating offshore windfarm.
The public consultation will run from the 12th of July until the 29th of August and includes a combination of a virtual online exhibition and local public drop-in events.
Mike Scott, Project Managing Director, said“ We would really like to hear your views on Erebus and would encourage you to submit your feedback online through our virtual exhibition or join us at Angle Village Hall on the 29th of July. Your feedback is crucial so we can consider your comments as we look to submit our Environmental Statement and Planning Application in December 2021.”
The project, located approximately 45km from the Pembrokeshire coast, aims to deliver enough electricity to supply approximately 90,000 homes, which will create new low carbon jobs and continue to provide supply chain opportunities in Wales and the South West.
David Jones, Stakeholder Manager, added, “Over 750 people attended our first online virtual exhibition in December 2020 and that feedback has helped shaped our work in 2021. We have timed the consultation to ensure we consider the views of both visitors to Pembrokeshire along with the local community and hope to see you in Angle at the end of the month.”
